Dr. Dan L. Edmunds is an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Psychotherapist. Dr. Edmunds completed undergraduate studies at the University of Florida and received a Master of Arts from the University of Scranton. Dr. Edmunds completed post graduate coursework in Dispute Resolution at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Edmunds earned a Doctorate of Education in Pastoral Community Counseling from Argosy University of Sarasota. He is a Diplomate of the American Psychotherapy Association.
Persons will develop an understanding of the role of lack of meaning, identity, and validation in addiction. The 5D’s of distance, disillusionment, duality, disillusionment, and denial. The lecture will explore painful experience, co-dependency, and suppression of feelings. There will be shared ways of building resilience, creating meaning and purpose, forging of community, understanding experience, addressing difficult emotions, and overcoming.
